Robotics The Movie

Way back when vampcat created his first holdable gun, i saw the opportunity to create a real heavy gun scene movie, i had seen many movies using the fingerprint scanner as a gun but never a real gun, i think i was the first to create a movie with a gun and with gunfire effects added. This movie was created when i was at simtrix.co.uk which sadly shut down, so now im bringing the movie back and hopefully you all will enjoy it.

This movie is called Robotics and was originally a short film which i found on the internet and decided to recreate in the sims. The images shown below are from the movie. :)

Note: This file is 79mb and is approximatly 13 minutes long.
Most of the effects in this movie have been edited in afterwards.

Re: Robotics The Movie

I'm really looking forward to it. And.......I'm hoping after the Silent Hill movie comes out, you'll maybe do one  That movie is totally gonna rock, they've really stuck to the games with it. You could also do wonders with The Hills Have Eyes.

Re: Robotics The Movie

Ye, i used to make animations in flash, i actually made a few south park videos making sets and characters that looked exact like the series, but once i got sims 2 and realised i could make movies in 3d without hardly any real hard graft animating each frame i tried it out and i havent touched flash since.

I have read good and bad reviews on the movies, its not really my thing, from what i have read correct me if im wrong the camera angles are automatic or not free cams, i have seen about 8 movies made in the movies and althought the camera angles looked great i still like the idea of free cam and the abilty to make everything yourself customize it how you want it, and im not too keen on the walking style kinda looks like a half hop walk. Sims 2 is basically a virtual movie creator in my mind the best, especially with all the modded content, without all the modded content the movies would be all similar, so all thanks should go to the creators. :bow1)

Thanks for the feedback, im glad you all like it, starting a new project soon.

Re: Robotics The Movie

the movies is such a awesome game, but it is limited, in the sims 2 tho, you can move your characters around to make it look like they are doing things, like a balcony to pool jump lol

Re: Robotics The Movie

This is a really, really well made movie!

I have a few questions though:
1: How did you get the effect of the elevator moving?
2: How do you do rolling credits? I've tried doing them with flash but haven't had sucsess.
3: Where did you get the space-station footage from?

This is pretty darn awsome stuff! :) Thumbs up! ^_^

Re: Robotics The Movie

Simlander, rolling credits is a typical feature of most mid to high end video editing software. Rolling credits and many other text effects on top of an animated image (rolling film, if you will) is a feature offered in Adobe Premier Pro (couldn't tell you about the other versions of Premier) and the like on a black background is an effect found in most packages (even the latest version of PowerDirector, which is often packed with a CD or DVD drive that one would buy separately). As for the other two things you ask about, I couldn't tell you about that either.
