OFB Naked Dresser - Slight Problem.

Hello, Carrigon.

I certainly hope I am posting this in the RIGHT place. :? The Forum header says it's for problems with Objects, but I didn't see one for Global Hacks, so I'm HOPING that it's ok to post queries about them here too. :?

Basically, the problem I have is that the Naked Dresser Hack does WORK... BUT in many cases the SECONDARY Menu choice doesn't match up with the Primary one, and then the eventual outcome may not match either.

Not a good way to describe it, I grant you, but these examples should make sens of it.

I instructed Cassandra Goth to change. Now, she was in Everyday clothes, yet Everyday appeared in the First Menu, while Undies didn't. I found this odd. Out of curiousity, I selected Everyday, and that offered me... Outfit 1 and Workout. I chose Outfit 1, and she changed into her Swimsuit!

I selected Change again. This time Undies DID show. I chose that, and was given the options Maternity and Workout. I chose Maternity, and she duly changed into Maternity, but it was the Everyday Maternity version.

In addition, if I remember rightly, Swimwear led to Formal(though I THINK the DESCRIPTIONS along the way went Swimwear ==> Workout), and PJs gave me Gym clothes(though I forget what the descriptions under Swimwear said).

I just thought I ought to raise this point.

Everything else about this hack(the Badge Juicer, Robot Spawning, Plan Outfit etc) all work fine.

I have ALL 3 EPs(no Holiday pack though) and ALL 3 Patches(no patch for available for OFB at time of writing).

I'm not yet running any Nudist Hacks, nor have I even reinstalled the Censor Remover since Upgrading to OFB.

As far as I am AWARE, I have no hacks that alter the globals for Clothes Changing. I have Merola's Single-Tile Dressers, but these simply apply Maxis code LOCALLY, no? :?

If need be I could remove them and and see if the problem persists. They're kinda redundant IF this hack works properly without them because it enables you to change the clothes of even UNselectable sims.

I also have the DMA Teleporter. Now THAT may just be a conflict, because it too allows for clothes changing, BUT it does it rather differently. It has an ALL on Lot feature. AND it applies it instananeously. That is to say that the clothes-changing happens with NO queued action, no "spin" and it doesn't interupt whatever the sims are doing. Ergo, you can make a sim swim naked, for example, by getting them to enter the pool or tub, then evaporate their clothes by clicking the option on it.

I'll try it without that too. Though, I confess I am reluctant to part with the DMA Teleporter because it's the only hacked object I know of which has a Caller ID feature. :( Be that as it may, I'll take that AND the Single-tile Dressers out and see what happens.

Hmm.

Well, I've just lifted those objects out, and there's no change. The Naked Dressing definitely still misidentifies the clothing options, and I'm 100% certain that I'm running no other hacks or objects that affect clothing. :(

Just thought I should bring this up.

Give me more details. What do you mean misidentifies the clothing? Do you mean with choosing a suit or buying? I have no problems with it in my game.

Carrigon - he is talking about the 'change suite' option. Sounds like its shifting everything by one.....

For the record, I use this with:
The same single tile dressers
The Entire DMA Line (both the yellow teleporter and he red controller)
Insim 2.2 sim/dest/obj
...and much much more with no noticiable issues on clothing changes. My 'change suite' option works fine.

That's weird cause I use it all the time and never have a problem. All I can think of is maybe it's a language code thing. But it's the Maxis coding, I didn't change it.

Ah yes, a Language thing, like with Careers, eh?

Yes, I'm in the UK, and my copy of TS2 and it's EPs will be running UK English. I take it the two of you are in the US maybe?

So, would there be a way to check if the menu options are "universal", so to speak?

Oops! Silly me. It says under your usernames that you're both in the US.

My bad. Sorry for the extra post. I'd have edited the one above, but I don't see an "Edit" Button.

Re: OFB Naked Dresser - Slight Problem.

I see it now in the code. I won't have time to fix this, but you can do it for yourself. I'm giving you a screenshot. If you can use SimPe alittle bit, open the file and click on Pie Menu Strings. Look at where I have the little drop down box circled that says English. Change that to the English UK. You'll then see what you were saying about the different pie choices. Just click on each one, retype them, then click commit and go to file save. It's an easy change, I just don't have time to do this, too, right now.
