Singing Stereo (PETS, SEASONS, CELEB) *UPDATE* 4/14/07

This is NOT a karaoke machine.  This is a stereo disguised as a stage light that has singing options.  I've designed this stereo so that you can have your sims sing to your very own stereo music.  So if you have your mp3's in your stereo folders, your sims can finally sing to your music.  And, other sims can be directed to join in if you like.

How to use:  Find it electronic​s/audio where you would find the boombox.  Just place it on your lot.  Turn it on first to set your station.  Turn it off.  Then just have a sim use the Turn On Sing option (this option will have them immediatel​y grab a mike and sing to your music).  I put in a plain option to sing because you use this one to have a sim join in.  Choosing plain Sing will allow a sim to walk over and grab a mike and join in.  You can also use this option for your videos.  The plain sing option has no sound by itself.

Other sims can dance while your sim is singing.  They can also change the music station for you.  You will want this because the way I've written the code, the current singing sim will not exit the singing queue until the entire sequence is finished.  And I've made it a long sequence.  I wanted you to have enough animations for a good full song.  The singing is a few minutes long.  When a sim finishes singing, they will get rid of the microphone and the music will stop completely​.  Fun will go up alittle bit, as well.

Sims can also workout and dance the smustle to this stereo, even while other sims are singing.  Sims with full body skill will not get the workout option.

I did not enable singing for child sims, but they can dance while a sim is singing.

Known Issues:  Because I've made the singing sequence long, if you have another sim turn off the stereo, the singing sim will continue to sing, silently until the sequence is finished.  Sims will also continue to sing with very low needs, so you should have a sim who isn't in critical needs condition do the singing.

Recolor/Re​distributi​on Policy:  It took me DAYS to write this code and mesh this so it would work.  No hacking, No re-hacking​ , No copying, No cloning, No recolors, No redistribu​ting without my permission​.  I worked very hard on this.  Please respect my policy.

UPDATE 4/14/07:  I've added a new version.  The new version has it's own GUID, so you can keep both versions in your game.  The new version has new singing animations to give you more variety.  I think I've made it better.  You can watch my new music video with the new animations here:

Carrigon, is there a tutorial of where and how to put your music together?

You just drop MP3's into one of your music folders here:
C:\Documen​ts and Settings\O​wner\My Documents\​EA Games\The Sims 2\Music

You pick which songs from inside the game in your audio settings.  So you just set things as if you were setting a custom stereo.

Which site can I download music from..that​'s for free? Please forgive me, because I have never done this before.

Nevermind, I've got the program!!!   Does it matter where you put the songs(Shag​gy's songs under Techo)

Whichever station you want to hear the songs.  Just drop the mp3 into it.  Then go to your game's audio settings and you can set which song you want to play from there.

This is cool, I like this can't wait to try it out in my game.

This is such a cool idea; thanks so much!  I love watching my sims sing in Superstar, and I was sorry that Maxis didn't make it possible for them to sing with the stereo.  But you have!  Yay!
